MEETUPS AT DATA + AI SUMMIT 2020

Databricks University Alliance Meetup

17:30 – 19:00 GMT, Tuesday 17 November

Kick-off your summit with a panel of educators discussing how and why they teach data science at scale. Learn about their approaches to teaching, managing virtual classrooms, and developing learning content. Each speaker will present a ten-minute overview of his or her work at their respective universities, followed by a moderated panel discussion focusing on how their instruction has evolved, the types of conceptual and technical content they specialize in, which architecture they use for delivering the course, and best practices in teaching. The meetup will close with an open Q&A session.

Apache Spark™ 3.0 Deep Dives Meetup

To kick off this meetup, Jules and Denny from Databricks Developer Relations will recap some keynote highlights, and each will briefly present personal picks from sessions that resonated well with them. Next, Jacek Laskowski, an independent consultant, will speak about Spark 3.0 internals, and Scott Haines from Twilio, Inc. will give a talk about structured streaming microservice architectures.
