Sander Timmer, PhD, is the leader of GSK Global Supply Chain’s AI and Decision Sciences organization. In this capacity, he oversees the Data Science CoE, Digital Twins, Generative AI, Responsible AI, Process Mining, MLOps/LLMops, and a substantial ML engineering team dedicated to scalable AI/ML platforms and products. With over 15 years of experience in data science, he has transitioned from writing neural nets to leading data scientists and AI engineers.

Before joining GSK, Sander was Senior Healthcare Industry Solutions Manager for Data & AI within Microsoft’s worldwide Health and Life Sciences team. He holds a PhD in Big Data Biology and Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI).
