Michael Simpson is a Staff Data Scientist at Thorn, where he has worked for almost four years. He has over eight years experience in machine learning/AI, and thirteen years in software engineering. He holds a masters in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. At Thorn, Michael uses computer vision and machine learning/AI to defend children. Michael chairs the IEEE working group on using safety by design in generative AI models to prioritize child safety.
