In May this year, we opened our latest development center in Bengaluru, India. We've been busy building out our R&D teams in India and have some exciting updates to share on that front.

This strategic move marks an exciting chapter for our company as we continue to expand our global presence and invest in fostering innovation. The Bengaluru development center is part of our global footprint of R&D sites in Amsterdam, Belgrade, Berlin, San Francisco, Mountain View and Seattle, and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and engineering endeavors.

At Databricks, our passion lies in enabling data teams to harness the power of data and AI to drive innovation within their businesses. From revolutionizing transportation to accelerating medical breakthroughs, our mission is to empower customers to solve the world's hardest data problems.

Why We Chose Bengaluru

We build R&D centers in cities known for their innovation. Bengaluru boasts a rich software industry that is home to a diverse range of companies, from small startups to the world's leading software companies. With its abundant pool of world-class engineers, Bengaluru continues to attract top-tier technology companies, making it an ideal destination for Databricks' latest development center. This also allows us to be closer to key Databricks customers in the APAC region, enabling stronger collaboration and better understanding of their unique needs. We are confident that a presence in Bengaluru will help accelerate our mission and are super excited about being part of Namma Bengaluru's thriving ecosystem.

We're excited to announce that Rohit Ananthakrishna, one of the earliest engineers at Google India, has joined Databricks as our Director of Engineering for the Bengaluru center. With his invaluable experience in shaping and growing teams in the tech industry, Rohit will play a pivotal role in driving our mission and fostering a culture of innovation.

Join Our Team of Engineers

We have recruited a small core of founding engineers for this new center and are actively recruiting both new graduates and experienced engineers. We're equally excited to welcome new grads and interns through our university recruiting program, including our inaugural batch of interns from many of the IITs (Chennai, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur and Mumbai)! Keep an eye out for us later this year as we undertake new grad hiring and grow our campus reach to more institutions.

Whether you are a passionate graduate ready to kick-start your career or an experienced professional seeking a new opportunity, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey. We welcome talented engineers from the region and those from overseas who wish to return home and be a part of our dynamic team.
