As we scale rapidly across the globe, we’re seeking an experienced, Workplace Regional Manager to lead Databricks' Pacific Northwest location (Bellevue, Seattle, and Vancouver) operations. 

The Real Estate & Workplace (REW) team operates at an extremely fast pace, and we require a leader with a startup mindset and fresh, innovative ideas to help us scale effectively. You will be instrumental in developing strategies that align with the broader regional and team objectives, and in implementing tactical solutions to support rapid growth.

This role involves managing the PNW workplace services team and cultivating key relationships with third-party partners who are crucial to our expansion. The region is projected to quickly surpass 1000 employees, with plans for significant future headcount increases. The position reports directly to the AMER Workplace services leader. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Bellevue, frequent travel to Seattle (at least weekly) and occasional travel to Vancouver, BC, is required.

Outcomes

  • Deliver the best in class service for employees, customers and investors 
  • Manage support team for internal events and experiences - trainings, onsite team gatherings, happy hours, and coordinate with the global events team for company-wide corporate events.
  • Oversee front of house activities at reception; ensure a great customer experience. Ensure that STARS (security team at reception) align with the experience we want to convey.
  • Guide all workplace services (operations and events) to achieve an exceptional environment which manifests and deepens company culture in our workplaces; inclusive of food and beverage, janitorial, maintenance and repair, transportation services, occupancy planning, and other onsite vendors.
  • Work cross functionally with your extended Americas team supporting projects and programs within the scope of Workplace and Real Estate Operations
  • Lead day 2 projects at all 3 sites and partner closely with the AMER project manager on new construction and expansion projects while updating key stakeholders in a collaborative, consistent way.
  • Ensure a coverage model that supports day to day requests are completed - work as a part of REW team to follow standards and key measures to ensure a consistent level of support 
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (EA’s, team leaders) and partner teams (HR, IT, Finance and property management) as well as external vendor services to ensure highest quality solutions
  • Work on special projects as a part of the global REW team
  • Help develop, improve and document consistent operational processes such as: Oversee regular office maintenance programs- janitorial, patch & paint and safety equipment etc
  • Optimize and document operational processes: OpEx, CapEx, Security and Safety Programs
  • Provide consistent mentorship to full time employees, outsourced contractors and vendors that create a one team environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years Workplace management experience with responsibility for operations, service delivery, and people management of a growing team.
  • Experience building schedules, coverage models and working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Great communication skills and the ability to draft robust communications plans for events, programs, and operations.
  • Proven organizational skills, managing multiple work streams and projects
  • Customer focused attitude - ensuring consistently high quality resolutions
  • Financial and budget experience; including sourcing/procuring goods or services and following procurement best practices
  • Experience with procurement, contract management and review, and vendor management.
  • Experience working and managing projects within a distributed, remote environment
  • Experience with google suite.
  • Experience with fresh service, envoy, health and safety programs, physical security programs preferred.

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
