From June 30 to July 2, 2014 we held the second Spark Summit, a conference focused on promoting the adoption and growth of Apache Spark. This was an exciting year for the Spark community and we are proud to share some highlights.
- 1,164 participants from over 453 companies attended
- Spark Training sold out at 300 participants
- 31 organizations sponsored the event
- 12 keynotes and 52 community presentations were given
Videos and slides from all presentations are now available on the Summit 2014 agenda page. Some highlights include:
- Spark Summit keynote from Databricks CEO Ion Stoica introducing Databricks Cloud
- Open source community updates by Matei Zaharia and Patrick Wendell
- Keynotes from SAP, Cloudera, MapR and Datastax
- Application talks including how Spark is used in neuroscience, image processing and genomics
- Talks from the core developers on components including Spark SQL, MLlib, JSON support and SparkR

Spark Summit comes to NYC in 2015
Spark Summit East will debut in New York City in early 2015. If you would like to be notified when tickets are on sale, please pre-register here.
