London, United Kingdom, December 6th 2024 - Databricks, the Data and AI company, today announced it has been named an authorised supplier for G-Cloud 14 signalling its continued commitment to supporting the UK public sector's data and AI transformation. With authorisation from G-Cloud 14, a programme designed to simplify the procurement of cloud technologies for UK public sector organisations, Databricks will help more organisations across the UK build data intelligence. G-Cloud 14: streamlining access to the Data Intelligence Platform

G-Cloud 14, managed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), grants public sector organisations a streamlined approach to accessing Databricks’ Data Intelligence Platform. The Data Intelligence Platform democratises access to analytics and intelligent applications by marrying customers’ data with powerful AI models tuned to the unique characteristics of their business. The Data Intelligence Platform is built on a lakehouse foundation of open data formats and open governance to ensure that all data is completely within the customers’ control.

“Our acceptance onto the G-Cloud 14 framework is a testament to Databricks’ dedication to UK public sector innovation. We successfully provide government entities with secure, scalable data intelligence, and look forward to helping more public sector organisations make data-driven decisions that directly improve the lives of citizens across the UK,” said Pritesh Patel, UK Public Sector Leader, Databricks.

Enhancing security for public sector data

Databricks has also recently achieved the UK Cyber Essentials Plus (UKCE+) certification, further supporting its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity for government and public sector clients. The UK government created UKCE+ to simplify and standardise IT security practices for commercial organisations who interact with UK government data.

“With the UKCE+ certification, Databricks reinforces its commitment to data security, ensuring our public sector customers can trust our platform with their most critical information,” said Jesse Scott, Senior Industry Director, Cybersecurity, Databricks. “Data is the backbone of AI transformation — its accuracy, governance, and accessibility are critical for driving meaningful insights, and ensuring ethical, impactful outcomes.”

“Our inclusion onto the G-Cloud 14 framework and our UKCE+ certification are pivotal steps forward in supporting UK public sector organisations to address their key data and AI challenges,” said Michael Green, VP for Northern Europe, Databricks. “From enhancing data sharing across departments to accelerating AI adoption, the UK public sector is facing a rapidly evolving landscape. With our Data Intelligence Platform, we’re enabling government entities to unlock powerful insights to fuel growth across the country. Our aim is to help these organisations tap into the full potential of their data, turning complex data-driven goals into impactful, sustainable outcomes.”
