This Senior Technical Trainer role is integral to enabling the technical Databricks community, which includes internal teams, partners, and customers, with skills and knowledge to innovate and build next-generation Data and AI solutions. This role will primarily be responsible for the delivery of technical training programs that align with the organization's objectives and strategies. You will create engaging and effective learning experiences catering to various learning styles and levels of technical expertise. This role involves facilitating both virtual and in-person training sessions and potentially traveling to different locations to conduct training. You will also play a pivotal role in evaluating the effectiveness of training products, providing feedback for improvement, and staying up-to-date with the latest Databricks products and industry trends to ensure the curriculum remains relevant.

The impact you will have: 

  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive technical training programs related to Databricks' products and services.
  • Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to understand training needs and create tailored training experiences to meet those needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs through feedback surveys, assessments, and observation, and revise the curriculum as needed.
  • Keep up-to-date with Databricks' product developments and industry trends to ensure training material is current and relevant.
  • Provide guidance and support to learners during the training process and handle any queries or issues.
  • Contribute to the development of self-paced online learning modules and other training resources.
  • Create training resources, such as manuals, guides, and online tutorials.
  • This role primarily involves the following tasks:
    • 60% - Facilitating virtual and in-person training sessions for audiences. 
    • 30% - Ramping and learning new training products
    • 10% - Special Projects as assigned

The skillset needed:

  • Deep understanding of Databricks' products and the ability to explain complex technical concepts easily.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Apache Spark™, Hadoop, and related tools.
  • Understanding cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of data engineering and science concepts, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A high degree of organization and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to think creatively and find practical solutions to challenges.
  • A passion for learning and development, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Proficiency with Databricks' platform and tools.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training software.
  • Familiarity with office productivity tools like Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
  • Experience with virtual communication tools, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a focus on Machine Learning, or AI (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role, such as technical training or technical roles in data engineering, data science, or software development.
  • Databricks Associate Data Engineer certification is preferred but not required.
  • Deep knowledge in areas of cloud computing, data engineering, and data science, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, is essential.
  • Familiarity with current Generative AI models
