Principal Product Marketing Manager, Data Warehousing

United States

MKTQ426R1

Databricks is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative technology companies in the world. We were founded to solve the world's toughest challenges with the Lakehouse, a unified architecture for data, analytics, and AI. By combining the Lakehouse with native generative AI, we now deliver the world's first Data Intelligence Platform, making AI and data accessible across every organization.

In this role at Databricks, you will help lead the marketing strategy for Databricks SQL, our cloud-scale, intelligent data warehouse. You will own how we position, message, and drive adoption of DBSQL as the modern alternative to legacy data warehouses, and as the best foundation for AI-powered analytics and BI. This is an important role for the business, where you will become a key go-to-market voice on all things data warehousing. You will help shape the messaging and support go-to-market efforts across sales, partner, and marketing teams, contributing to awareness, differentiation, and customer adoption.

Ideal candidates will have a proven record in product marketing and experience working on technical products. You should have a strong understanding of data and AI platforms or data warehousing technologies, experience creating compelling messaging and positioning for enterprise buyers, and the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver unified GTM strategies and execution plans. We also welcome candidates with a background in management consulting who have led go-to-market or product strategy work on technical projects and are eager to transition into a hands-on product marketing role.

The impact you will have:

  • Own the marketing strategy for Databricks SQL, from positioning and packaging to sales enablement and adoption strategies
  • Define messaging and value propositions that resonate with data engineers, architects, and analysts, and clearly differentiate DBSQL in a crowded market
  • Lead product launches, pricing updates, and new feature rollouts to drive market awareness, competitive positioning, and customer usage
  • Partner with product to influence roadmap and ensure GTM alignment with customer needs and business goals
  • Develop and execute integrated GTM programs with field, campaign, and partner teams to drive pipeline and accelerate product adoption
  • Deliver high-impact enablement to sales and technical field teams, with clear guidance on how to position, demo, and land the value of DBSQL
  • Build and maintain a steady stream of customer evidence and proof points that reinforce DBSQL’s value and differentiation
  • Act as the internal and external voice of DBSQL, supporting briefings, field events, and analyst engagements

What we look for:

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience at an enterprise software company, ideally in the data, cloud, or analytics space
  • Candidates with a management consulting background and a strong track record of translating technical complexity into business value are encouraged to apply
  • Track record of owning and executing go-to-market strategies that drive measurable product adoption and business impact
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing, query engines, or modern data and AI platform technologies
  • Experience developing and scaling positioning and messaging for technical buyers, with a portfolio of content that spans launches, sales assets, and thought leadership
  • Skilled at collaborating with product and engineering to shape roadmap inputs and align GTM strategy to customer needs
  • Proven ability to partner with sales, technical field teams, and demand gen to drive adoption and expansion across the funnel
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify technical concepts for both practitioner and executive audiences
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influence skills
  • Preferred technical academic background (BS in computer science or related discipline), coupled with MBA
