Data Warehousing in the Era of AI Virtual Event Sweepstakes Official Rules

SPONSOR. The Data Warehousing in the Era of AI Virtual Event Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is organized and sponsored by Databricks, Inc. a Delaware corporation with offices at 160 Spear St 15th floor, San Francisco, CA 94105 (“Databricks” or “Sponsor”).
CONSENT. These are the terms and conditions that govern the relationship between you, the entrant (“you”, “your(s)”) and the Sponsor in relation to the Sweepstakes. BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES YOU ARE YOU AGREE TO THESE OFFICIAL RULES, THE DATABRICKS WEBSITE TERMS OF USE, AND THE DATABRICKS PRIVACY POLICY, SO PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY AS THEY LIMIT YOUR RIGHTS AND REMEDIES. A COPY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES CAN BE FOUND ON SPONSOR'S WEBSITE (the "Website"). You also confirm that you: (a) have legal capacity to enter this Sweepstakes; and (b) you are of sufficient age and mental capacity and are entitled to be legally bound in contract.
EVENT. The virtually hosted event is Data Warehousing in the Era of AI on May 9, 10, and 14, 2024 (the "Event"). Further details can be found on the event Website.
START/END DATES. The Sweepstakes begins Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 08:00 AM Pacific Time ("PT") and ends on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 03:00 AM PT (the “Entry Period”). The Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes. Please visit http://www.worldtimeserver.com/ or other world time database to determine local time.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Entry or Entries. You may enter into the Sweepstakes by completing the following steps during the Entry Period:
  1. Step 1. Register for the Event.
  2. Step 2. Check the opt-in box to sign-up for the sweepstake. If you are a resident of Canada, you will also be required to answer an additional math question in order to claim your prize.
2. Void Entry or Entries. Entries created or submitted in violation of these Official Rules, the Databricks Website Terms of Use, or the Databricks Privacy Policy are void.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA. As of the time you submit your Entry you must:
1. be at least 18 years of age or older;
2. have internet access and access to a personal computer;
3. be a legal resident of the United States of America or Canada; excluding residents of Florida, USA; New York, USA; and Quebec, Canada;
4. NOT be on any U.S. Exportation Regulation prohibited list;
5. NOT be employed by a government body, regulatory agency or an institution or company owned or controlled by the government; and
6. NOT be an employee of the Sponsor, its affiliates, agents, or a party helping to administer or promote the Sweepstakes, or any of their respective family members or household members. The term “family members” includes mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, partner or spouse and the term "household members" includes anyone residing in the same household as you.
WINNER SELECTION.
1. How Selected. Ten (10) entrants shall be randomly selected from all eligible and valid Entries (each a “Winner” and together the “Winners”). The random drawing will take place at the Sponsor's offices within 2 days of the end of the Entry Period.
2. Odds of Winning. ODDS OF WINNING A PRIZE ARE SUBJECT TO THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED.
3. Notification to Winner. Winners will be contacted via the email address associated with your registration to the Event. Winners will be required to respond to the notification within two (2) days of receipt of the notification by return of email accepting the prize.
4. Winners’ List. A list of all Winners will be published here. If you cannot access this link, please email Sponsor using our contact us form. The winners are:

5. All decisions of Sponsor will be final and binding.
PRIZES.
Prize. Winners will receive their choice of either an in-person ticket to Databricks Data + AI Summit 2024 (the prize only covers the ticket to the event) (Estimated total prize value: 1,895 USD) (“Prize”) or a 1-year subscription to Databricks Academy Labs (Estimated total prize value: 200 USD) (“Prize”) to accommodate those who are unable to travel.

The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable or convertible to cash or other substitutes and cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers, offers or discounts.

If due to circumstances beyond the Sponsor's control, the Sponsor is unable to provide the stated prize(s), the Sponsor reserves the right to award a substitute prize(s) of equal or greater value.
1. Prize conditions and restrictions:
  1. All other expenses, including without limitation travel expenses (flight, accommodation, transportation), meals and beverages, personal expenses and all other expenses not expressly specified herein incurred are the responsibility of the winner);
  2. The winner is solely responsible for arranging travel to and from the event and ensuring that travel documents (i.e. a passport, visa, etc.), travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) are in good order and are valid prior to and for the duration of the trip;
  3. The prize may only be redeemed by the winner himself/herself and the winner may be required to present personal identification documents; and
  4. No responsibility is assumed by the Sponsor for any canceled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled events once any tickets have been issued in relation to the prize for any reason whatsoever beyond its control.
2. Prize Issuance. Winners will be contacted within 2 days after the random drawing. If a Winner cannot be contacted after two (2) attempts within five (5) working days; does not respond within two (2) days of attempted notification, refuses the prize, is ineligible to accept the Prize, or is in breach of these Official Rules, the Website Terms of Use and/or the Privacy Policy, the winner shall be disqualified and the Sponsor will select another winner at random from all remaining eligible and valid Entries and award the prize to such alternative Winner. Except where prohibited, Winners may be required to complete and sign additional tax forms or legal agreements, such as a non-disclosure agreement or release, provided by Sponsor and proof of eligibility within 2 days of attempted notification in order to claim the applicable Prize. All Prizes claimed in accordance with these Official Rules will be awarded.
3. Timing and Conditions. Prizes will be awarded to Winners within a commercially reasonable time. A personal computer, internet connection, and an email address may be required in order to receive and use the Prize.
4. Prize Substitution. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable or convertible to cash or other substitutes and cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers, offers or discounts. Notwithstanding the above, if due to circumstances beyond Sponsor's control, Sponsor is unable to provide the stated prize(s), Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of equal or greater value.
5. Taxes. All federal, state, local, and other applicable taxes, licenses, title, or registrations fees or other costs associated with winning and using the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winners and not the responsibility of Sponsor, its affiliates, agents, or a party helping to administer or promote this Sweepstakes, or any of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns.
6. Winner Publicity. Except where legally prohibited, by entering into the Sweepstakes, the Winners hereby give Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, sublicensable right and authority to use their name, likeness, city, state, or country of residence, or any other information they provide about themselves, the Prize, the Sweepstakes, or Databricks, for the purpose of promoting the Sweepstakes and Databricks or its affiliates without any further notification or compensation to you.
7. Any and all Prize details not specified herein will be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of Sponsor.
LIABILITY AND RELEASE.
To the fullest extent permitted and except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, by entering into this Sweepstakes you agree that Sponsor Parties and of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns shall not be liable for and fully release such parties from any claims, suits, personal injury, death, damage (including of property), expenses, costs, losses, or fees of any kind resulting from entry into or participation in the Sweepstakes or use or inability to use the Prize, whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty, or any other theory of liability. You further acknowledge that Sponsor Parties and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns have not made any representations, warranties, guarantees, whether express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to the Prize. In any event, under no circumstances will the liability of Sponsor to you exceed the lesser of $250 USD and the value of the applicable Prize.
PRIVACY. Information submitted in connection with the Sweepstakes will be processed in accordance with these Official Rules, the Sponsor Website Terms of Use located at https://www.databricks.com/terms-of-use and the Sponsor Privacy Policy located at https://www.databricks.com/privacypolicy. By entering into this Sweepstakes you understand and agree that your personal information may be collected and used by Sponsor Parties and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns, for the sole purpose of administering and completing this Sweepstakes, including notifying you, prize delivery, and to comply with applicable sweepstakes laws. If permitted under applicable law, you may exercise your right to access and modify the personal information stored by Sponsor with respect to this Sweepstakes by using this form and detailing their request.
ADDITIONAL TERMS.
1. Representations and Warranties. You represent and warrant that your Entry complies with these Official Rules.
2. Contact and Documentation. You understand and agree that Sponsor or its agents may contact you via email and request that you sign additional documentation and provide proof in accordance with Section 8.b. (Prize Issuance).
3. Assignment of Rights. You understand and agree that all Entries will be the sole and exclusive property of Sponsor and you hereby irrevocably assign to Sponsor all right, title and interest you have in and to such Entries, including without limitation all worldwide intellectual property or proprietary rights therein. At the request of Sponsor, you understand and agree to execute any documentation and take such other actions as may be necessary to enable Sponsor to acquire and perfect the rights assigned herein.
4. Waiver of Damages. You waive the right to claim any damages, including but not limited to punitive damages, consequential damages, and any direct or indirect damages.
5. Governing Law and Venue. Except where prohibited by law, you agree that any and all claims, disputes, and causes of actions that arise out of or relate to the Sweepstakes will be governed by and resolved in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Disclaimer. Neither Sponsor, its affiliates, agents, or a party helping to administer or promote this Sweepstakes (together, the “Sponsor Parties”), or any of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns are responsible for any technological, transmission, or communications failures, inaccuracies, malfunctions, or errors or any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic, or otherwise.
6. Changes to the Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to make changes to Official Rules if required. All changes to the Official Rules will be posted in revised Official Rules on the Website and notified to you if you have entered the Sweepstakes prior to such revisions. You have the right to cancel your participation in the Sweepstakes (but not your registration to the event) should you not agree with the amended Official Rules.
7. Disqualification. In addition to other disqualifying events outlined in these Official Rules, false, fraudulent, or deceptive acts will be grounds for disqualification. If disqualified for any reason, Sponsor reserves the sole and absolute right to terminate your eligibility to participate in this Sweepstakes or any other promotional activity run by Sponsor.
8. Suspension or Termination of Sweepstakes. If this Sweepstakes is compromised by a virus, but, unauthorized intervention, or any other causes beyond Sponsor’s control, which, in the sole opinion of Sponsor, compromises the fairness of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right suspend or terminate the Sweepstakes, or select Winners from Entries determined not to have been compromised.
9. All decisions by Sponsor with respect to the application and interpretation of the Official Rules are at its sole discretion and final.
10. Severability. In the event any Provision of these Official Rules prove unenforceable, void or incomplete, the validity of the other conditions will remain unaffected.
